Gaining Support of Public Officials: Communicating your Mission

  • Public policy 101 -what is it, and why is it important to your nonprofit?
  • Advocacy plan - how and why develop a plan and guiding principles
  • Lobbying - what is it, and how to stay out of trouble
  • Successes/trials with public policy efforts
  • Framing an argument
  • Meeting with a public official
