Volunteer Recruiting, Management, and Recognition

Not all volunteers are created equal. Examine ways to provide opportunities within your organization that best meet the skills, personality, and expectations of your volunteers. We will discuss processes and give you tools to help you determine which volunteers are appropriate for a project, whether they are long-term or special event volunteers. We will also explore ways to recruit, screen, train, support, and recognize volunteers.

Communicating for Results

Have you ever left a conversation saying to yourself, "That didn't go as I would have liked," or, "I wish that would have gone better"? If you answered "yes", you've experienced the all-too-common dilemma of communication gone wrong. When the stakes are high, you want these conversations to go right. Whether you are communicating with a board member, volunteer, difficult employee, clients, family, or friends, this workshop based on the national bestselling book, Crucial Conversations, reveals the communication skills proven by research that enable open, honest, and positive dialogue.

If you have ever wondered how to discuss sensitive issues, manage defensiveness (both yours and others), be a better sounding board, break a stalemate, or keep a conversation on track, Communicating for Results holds the research-based answers you are looking for.

Where: Logan Center, 2505 E. Jefferon Blvd., South Bend, IN
